Apres notre sejour dans la vallée sacrée, nous sommes partis en direction de Arequipa avec un bus de nuit. Nous sommes restés 2 jours a Arequipa et avons pu expérimenter (finalement!) la saison des pluies! Nous avons a peine vu le gros volcan Misti qui surplombe la ville! Nous avons fait du couchsurfing avec un couple d'américains tres sympas. Nous ne sommes pas tres ville alors 2 jours étaient amplement suffisants :)
Ensuite, nous sommes partis en direction du canyon de la Colca. Ce canyon est supposé ètre l'un des plus profonds du monde ! Il y avait 6h de bus entre Arequipa et Cabanacombe ou nous sommes restés dans un hostel tres sympa.
Le lendemain nous sommes descendus au fond du canyon a Sangalle (aussi appelé "oasis paradise") en environ 2H. Nous devions (trop dommage!) attendre Stella et Ed (le couple d'anglais que nous avons rencontrés durant lÍnca treck). Nous avons donc passé l'apres midi a glander dans la piscine sous les palmiers, a boire des cocktails et a faire du yoga. Le soir, nous avons diné au lodge (du riz.. encore du riz!) a la lumiere des bougies car pas d'electricité!
Le lendemain Stella et Ed sont bien arrivés vers 9h30 au point de RDV! Nous avons marché pas mal durant cette premiere journée car nous sommes arrivés vers 17h au village de Fure. Superbe journée! Comme nous avions changé nos plans nous n'avions pas vérifié si il y avait effectivement un hebergement la bas. Mais si... un peu rustique mais bon :)
Le lendemain nous sommes allés faire un tours aux cascades situées a 1h au dessus du village. Apres déjeuner nous sommes repartis en directon d'un autre village Lluhar. Celui ci était supposé avoir des sources chaudes. Mais arrivés la bas.. que neni, la riviere (tres bruyante soit dit en passant!) était trop haute.
Le lendemain, nous nous sommes levés tot car nous devions choper le bus de 14h a Cabanacombe et nous avions environ 1300m de denivellé a grimper! Nous sommes arrivés comme il fallait et avons dit au revoir a Stella et Ed.. on se reverra en Europe!
Nous nous sommes ensuite arretés a Chivay pour nous détendre aux sources chaude (bien réelles celles ci!). Le soir, Ludo a gouté une des spécialités Péruviennes.. que je ne cautionne pas! Le cochon d'inde! Pouah!
Le lendemain, nous avons voyagé jusqu'a Puno, notre derniere ville au Pérou. Le voyage ne fut pas des plus confortables puisque nous avons pris 2 bus dont un ou nous ommes restés 3H assis dans les escaliers!
Nous voici maintenant en Bolivie, pres du lac Titicaca... mais ceci sera un autre article!
After our stay in the Sacred Valley, we left for Arequipa with a night bus. We stayed there for 2 days and we had (finally!) the occasion to witness the rainy season! We did some couchsurfing with a very nice American couple. We are not "city" fans, therefore 2 days there were really enough :)
We then left for the Colca Canyon. This canyon is supposed to be one of the deepest in the world! There was 6H of bus between Arequipa and Cabanacombe where we stayed in a nice hostel for a night.
The day after, we hiked down the canyon to Sangalle (also called cheesily "Oasis Paradise") in about 2 hours. We had too wait for Stella and Ed (the couple of English that met during the Inca trail). We spent the afternoon in the swimming pool under the palm trees, drinking some cocktails and doing some yoga. In the evening, we had diner at the lodge (rice again!) only using the light of a candle as there was no electricity!
The day after, Stella and Ed well arrived at around 9.30 at the meeting point! We hiked a lot for this first day. We arrived at around 17h to the village of Fure. Beautiful day! As we had changed our plans we had not double checked beforehand if there was an accomodation there. Fortunalty, there was one, a bit rustic but there was!
The day after, we hike til the waterfalls located 1h above the village. After lunch, we hiked down to the village of Llahuar. This one was supposed to have some hot springs. But, when we arrived there we were told that it was not possible to use them as the level of the river was too high (and very noisy as well)...
The following day, we woke up very early as we had to get the bus leaving at 14h from Canabacombe and we had around 1300m to climb up! We said goodbye to Stella and Ed .. we'll meet again.. in Europe!
We stopped at Chivay to relax a bit in the hot springs (real those ones!). At diner, Ludo tasted one of the peruvian speciality that I don´t really like: the guinea pig! Berk!
The day after, we travelled up to Puno, our last city in Peru. The journey was not the most confortable of all as we had to take 2 buses including one in which we had to sit for 3 hours in the stairs of the bus!
We are now in Bolivia, nearby the Titicaca lake... but this will be another post!
